French musician and artist Philippe Katerine has decorated The MixC Shenzhen Bay with his massive bubblegum pink installations, disclosing the artist’s philosophy of “simply open your eyes, you can always find something cute somewhere and it’s just a matter of perception.”

The exhibition is full of humor and creativity to see life in pink. Katerine, an exhilarating French artist, decorated the shopping center and its plaza with his monumental pink men at various spots.
An extravagant and unorthodox artist with a corrosive sense of humor, Katerine used the lockdown to produce a multi-form work of art. The result is “Le Mignonisme” (“Cuteness”), a diagnostic tool that looks into revealing the “cute” aspect of the experimental situation the whole world is going through.

The artist draws, paints, dreams and invents universes where objects, food, animals and nature come to life and challenge reality. Similar works have also been displayed this spring at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris.
With the show, the artist wants to remind visitors that the unexpected and creative can be hidden away anywhere, and that if we look closely, we can always find something cute.
