        Nanshan’s major scenic spots receive 343,800 visits during New Year’s Day Holiday

        During the three-day New Year’s Day Holiday that ended Jan. 2, six major scenic spots in Nanshan District, Splendid China•China Folk Culture Villages, Window of the World, Happy Valley, OCT Harbour, Shenzhen Safari Park, and Evergreen Resort received a total of 343,800 visits, according to Shekou News, quoting the official statistics.

        From now through Feb. 5, residents and tourists can visit the Zigong Lantern Carnival at Splendid China•China Folk Culture Villages to admire the colorful lantern installations, Chinese culture performances and float parades. The carnival’s biggest highlight is a 2,000-square-meter giant goddess lantern on water, which entertains with sound, light, shadow, water, fog and smoke.

        During the New Year’s Day holiday, Window of the World launched its “2023 Shining New Year’s Season” that featured an electronic music party, boy’s singing and dancing groups, a New Year’s Day parade, snow spray battle, flash balloon rain, etc.

        Happy Valley launched the first large-scale high-altitude challenge show “Storm Swing,” which created an immersive experience of being weightless.

        At OCT Harbour, visitors got a chance to see parades of various styles in which performers showed off the charms of traditional Chinese clothing.

        At Shenzhen Safari Park, staffers used apples and watermelon and other fruits to create a New Year feast for their animals, including giraffes and red pandas.

        Evergreen Resort presented the Fantasy Circus Carnival during the New Year’s Day holiday and the star animals wowed spectators with their performances.
