Nanshan District took first place among Guangdong Province’s top 100 districts and counties’ ranking. The city’s Futian, Bao’an, Longgang and Longhua districts also made it into the top 10, ranking third, fourth, sixth and 10th places, respectively, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Thursday.
The ranking was released along with a research on the high-quality development of the province’s top 100 districts and counties in 2022 at a forum recently.
The research took 122 districts, counties and county-level cities under the jurisdiction of prefecture-level cities (excluding the cities of Dongguan and Zhongshan) in Guangdong as the research subject.

Based on the objective analysis of the development status and characteristics of districts and counties in Guangdong, the research systematically compared the development level of each district and county from the four dimensions of economic development, scientific and technological innovation, people’s livelihood and ecological environment, in their pursuit of high-quality development.
In another list previously released by CCID Consulting, Nanshan also ranked first among the country’s top 100 districts, retaining the first place among the top 100 districts for five consecutive years.
The rankings have shown that Nanshan is still one of the most dynamic regions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even in China, and also confirmed that all sectors of society are optimistic about the district’s development.
According to the Daily, Nanshan focuses on planning 10 key areas and accelerating the development of “14+7” strategic emerging industrial clusters while expediting the construction of a world-class innovative coastal central city during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).
